- Successful DNA Analysis of Lynx Remains
-
During the summer excavation in 2016, we excavated a minimum of two individuals and over 30 pieces of Lynx remains from Late Jomon Period cultural layer[Office1] s. These materials are extremely valuable from an academic standpoint as there are no previous examples of unearthing this many resources from an archeological site. We have already succeeded in conducting DNA analysis on ulnae from two specimens. In addition, we are currently conducting radiocarbon dating and stable isotope analyses on the materials, so look forward to the further news.
